AMAZING: SWISS First Class bookable using Star Alliance Partner Miles - Limited Time Only!

November 30, 2017

Yesterday night, Live and Let's Fly founder Matthew published an article detailing how SWISS' first class awards, from the United States to Europe, were bookable using Aeroplan (Air Canada's frequent flyer loyalty program) miles. Per his report, SWISS first class bookings can be made using only 70,000 miles per way on Aeroplan, an EXCELLENT deal, considering the fact that normally, SWISS does not release first class award space to members booking on its Star Alliance partners. By contrast, these highly coveted seats are reserved for its top-ranking elites; anyone else wishing to fly in First Class must pay in cash. SWISS has a great first class product on its Boeing 777-300ER, with 8 open suites arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration.

Well, we're now able to see award space for SWISS First Class available on more Star Alliance partners. Based on Matthew's report, I searched on for premium cabin awards from San Francisco to Zurich, and was able to find some limited award space, albeit only for the more expensive Everyday awards, which will cost you 190,000 miles. Despite this, its great to see that SWISS first class awards are still bookable on some Star Alliance partner airlines.

Despite Matthew reporting that ANA was also offering SWISS first class for 87,500 miles each way (you can only book round trip awards on ANA, and they charge you a fuel surcharge), I was not able to find any award space with that airline.

As you can see, 70,000 miles and 190,000 miles are certainly a huge difference. If you are an Air Canada Aeroplan member - book immediately, as this offer is likely not going to last long. Despite this limited offer, it's still great to see SWISS' first class available for awards on Star Alliance partners.

Have you booked a First Class award with Aeroplan or MileagePlus on SWISS?
